Process description:
Street segment data is collected by driving streets with GPS data collection equipment.  Each roadway is driven in both directions.  On return to the office, the GPS data is brought into the map display work session and centerlines for each street drawn in.

New construction is recorded as soon as roadways are drive-able.  For construction sites that are not yet accessible by program vehicle, the streets are drawn free-hand and addresses that have been approved for the site being developed are applied.  As soon as roadways are drive-able by program vehicle, GPS data are recorded and free-hand drawings are replaced.
