Layers and Legend:
Layers
The map layers that may be added or removed from the map display are located in the right margin of the main page. The layers are grouped into folders.

“After the desired layers have been turned on or off, click [Apply], or click the folder icon to close the list and refresh the map.”
To view the layers in all folders click [Open All]. Use [Close All] to minimize the list

To view layers in a particular folder, click the folder icon to the left of the category name.
 

A check mark next to a layer indicates that it is turned on

To toggle a feature off, un-check the checkbox. After the desired layers have been turned on or off, click [Apply].
 

To save the current layers, check the
"Save layers in cookie" checkbox
and click Apply. These layer settings will be
saved for the next time you visit this site.
 
To stop saving un-check the box and click Apply. The layer settings will revert back to the default the next time this site is visited.
 
Tip: If the check mark is on and the feature is not visible in the map display you may have to zoom in or out to see this feature. Zoom out is necessary if the highlight is green; zoom in is necessary if the layer name is highlighted in lavender.
 
Legend:
 

To view the legend, click the Legend/Layer icon  in the Toolbar to the left of the map display.
 
The legend will display only those features visible on the map.
Use the Legend/Layer icon  to toggle back to the layer list.
